Black Forest Museum - Triberg
The traditional Bollenhut hat on a journey through time
Beschreibung
The Black Forest always had a great deal of diversity - rural, industrial, inventive, challenging, and idyllic all at the same time. The Black Forest Museum shows you the many facets to this fascinating region - simultaneously answering the questions of how many pom-poms are on the Gutach Bollenhut, what the traditional wedding "Hochzeitsschäppel" is, and why ladies from Triberg wear top-hats. The museum not only shows tradition, it also has modern facets, such as an important collection of Black Forest clocks from 4 centuries, the spectacular Black Forest Rail as a large-scale diorama, a mineral mine, and self-playing music boxes. Round off your visit with a taste of our exquisite cakes at the museum‘s café. We offer tours by appointment in German, English, Italian, Spanish, and French.
