Public bath of the Roman legion
Roman soldiers and their families once lived in the area of today's Rottweil old town district. Remains of the former settlement of Arae Flaviae have been preserved to this day.
Beschreibung
In the course of the 1967 construction work for extension of the town’s cemetery, a Roman bath of 45x42 metres was excavated. Since 1971, the archaeological site has been open to the public. Probably built in the 80s of the 1st century, the Roman bath is one of the most prominent sites of its kind in Baden-Württemberg.
