German-Swiss Literature Days, Rottweil Encounter © Stadt Rottweil

Since 1985, the German-Swiss Literature Days in Rottweil, alternating with the Brugger Literature Days, have been bringing together writers and readers from both countries. An entire weekend is set aside for getting to know each other – this applies both to the eight authors, half of whom come from Germany and half from Switzerland, and to literature enthusiasts.

On Friday morning, some of the authors introduce themselves at schools in Rottweil and engage in conversation with the young people.

At the public readings on Saturday, which for several years now have been held in the workshop hall on the atmospheric grounds of the Erich Hauser Art Foundation, the audience can gain insights into current contemporary literature and the literary work of the authors. During the breaks and evening get-togethers, the focus is on getting to know each other, collegial exchange, and contact with readers.

A matinee with all participating authors concludes the literature festival on Sunday.

Admission to all events is free!
